Postpartum Doulas

Postpartum Doulas Serving the Tri-State Area

A postpartum doula is your ally in the fourth trimester — someone who tends to you as you recover and helps you care for your baby with more confidence and less fear. Blossom Bebes places experienced postpartum doulas in homes across New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, supporting parents through the tender, disorienting first weeks at home.

What Postpartum Doulas Do

Where a Newborn Care Specialist focuses on the baby, a postpartum doula supports the whole family’s recovery and transition. That often looks like emotional support and reassurance during postpartum recovery; hands-on feeding guidance, whether breastfeeding, bottle, or a combination; promoting rest and healing, including after a C-section; soothing and comfort techniques that build your bond with your baby; light, baby-related household help so you can focus on recovering; and connecting you to trusted local resources when you need them.

The Difference Between a Postpartum Doula and a Newborn Care Specialist

A postpartum doula cares for you — the whole family’s recovery and transition — while a Newborn Care Specialist focuses on the baby’s care and routines. A doula’s first focus is the birthing parent’s recovery, then the newborn, then easing anything that gets in the way of either. Many families use both, and some caregivers are trained in both roles. If you’re not sure which fits, that’s a good first conversation to have with us.

We believe the mother and baby walk the fourth trimester together — and that when we care for one, we care for both.
